The International Women’s Day is not only meant to set a sign against the daily and worldwide oppression of girls and women, inter, trans and non-binary persons in patriarchal systems. It also celebrates the courageous fights against social injustices, discrimination, sexist and racist violence. The book “Breaking Borders to Build Bridges: 20 Years of Women in Exile” also tells of the stories and struggles of strong women. The book, written collectively by Women in Exile, is a collection of texts about fleeing, surviving, about the situation in refugee camps and 20 years of activism as a group of refugee women for the abolishment of camps (Lager) and for freedom of movement.
In the forefront of International Women’s Day, BumF e.V. invites to a book reading, taking place on the 6th of March, 6.30 pm, at “Oyoun“ in Berlin. Activists of Women in Exile will be guests, reading excerpts from the book “Breaking Borders to Build Bridges” and answering audience questions during a Q&A afterwards.

Der Internationale feministische Kampftag soll nicht nur ein Zeichen setzen gegen die tagtägliche und weltweite Unterdrückung von Mädchen und Frauen, inter, trans und nicht-binären Personen in patriarchalen Systemen. Er feiert auch die mutigen Kämpfe gegen damit verbundene gesellschaftliche Ungerechtigkeiten, gegen Diskriminierung, gegen sexistische und rassistische Gewalt. Von aktivistischen Kämpfen und von den Geschichten starker Frauen berichtet auch das Buch „Breaking Borders to Build Bridges: 20 Years of Women in Exile“. Das Buch, was kollektiv von Women in Exile geschrieben wurde, ist eine Sammlung von Texten über die Flucht, das Überleben, die Situation in Geflüchtetenlagern und über das 20-jährige Engagement als Gruppe geflüchteter Frauen für die Abschaffung von Lagern und für Freizügigkeit.
Im Vorfeld des Internationalen feministischen Kampftages lädt der BumF e.V. herzlich zu einer Buchlesung mit Women in Exile ein, die am 6. März, ab 18.30 Uhr, im “Oyoun“, in Berlin stattfinden wird. Aktivistinnen von Women in Exile sind zu Gast, lesen Auszüge aus dem Buch „Breaking Borders to Build Bridges“ und beantworten bei einem anschließenden Q&A Publikumsfragen.
